David Walliams Charms Gibraltar Ahead of GGLF 2025

The Gibunco Gibraltar Literary Festival was delighted to welcome David Walliams to the Rock on Thursday 24th April 2025, offering a magical prelude to this year’s festival.

The bestselling children’s author, known for favourites such as Mr Stink, The World’s Worst Children, and Gangsta Granny, met with 1,600 local schoolchildren during a lively and laughter-filled event at the Europa Sports Arena. Walliams captivated young audiences with readings from his books, shared behind-the-scenes stories from his writing life, and invited a number of children.

During his visit, David also explored some of Gibraltar’s cultural landmarks and met with representatives from Gibraltar Cultural Services, expressing his admiration for the Rock’s rich heritage and the energy of its young readers.

This special event marked a significant moment in the lead-up to GGLF 2025, sparking excitement for what’s to come in November. Walliams' visit exemplifies the spirit of the festival—celebrating storytelling, imagination, and the joy of literature across all ages.
