Second Release of Speakers for Gibunco Gibraltar Literary Festival 2026

Gibraltar Cultural Services (GCS), on behalf of the Ministries of Culture and Tourism, is delighted to confirm a further ten authors who will be participating in the Gibunco Gibraltar Literary Festival 2026:



- Adele Parks MBE is the award-winning author of 25 bestselling novels. Her work has sold over six million copies in English and translated into 31 languages. They include the recent Sunday Times bestsellers, ‘Just Between Us’, ‘One Last Secret’, and her latest publication ‘Our Beautiful Mess’.


- Lord Peter Ricketts is former Head of British Diplomatic Service and an expert in international security. He returns to the Literary Festival with his new publication: ‘Peace Makers: Shaping the Modern World’, recounting the stories of the men and women of the Foreign Office in WWII and how British diplomacy kept Franco’s Spain out of the Nazi camp, a crucial factor in preventing a potential German move against Gibraltar.


- Jay Griffiths is the award-winning author of numerous books and recipient of the Hay Festival International Fellowship, among other honours. Original, playful and deeply insightful, her latest work, ‘How Animals Heal Us’, explores the profound ways in which animals lie at the heart of a restorative vision of health and human wellbeing.


- Eliza Clark is Granta’s 2023 Best of Young British Novelists. She is known for her dark, provocative fiction novels including ‘Boy Parts’, ‘Penance’ and short story collection ‘She’s Always Hungry’.


- Nicola Moorby is an art historian and curator, who with her book ‘Turner and Constable’, sheds a new light on the two artists who went on to change the face of British Art. She describes both artists as complete opposites, but their combined stories are of triumph of landscape painting.


- Dr Mathew Ford presents his book ‘War in the Smartphone Age’. It explores how war is just a few clicks away on our smartphones, examining how conflict is mediated, represented, and increasingly participated in through digital technology


- Sean Gilbert presents his hugely acclaimed debut novel ‘I’ll be the Monster’, a darkly humorous psychological thriller. He is recognised as a rising star in contemporary British literature.


- George Bell is the author of 'Be a Man About It: Building a healthier idea of masculinity' examines mental health, masculinity, and the pressures placed on boys and men, and what can be done about it.





- Andy Baker will discuss dementia care with his book ‘The Adaptive Caregiver Model’. It offers a compassionate and practical guide for anyone supporting a person living with dementia.


- Callie Kazumi is a writer and author of psychological thrillers. After completing her studies in Journalism and Politics, she presents ‘Claire Darling’ and her latest publication ‘Greedy’.



Minister for Culture and Tourism, The Hon. Christan Santos GMD MP said: “This further line up of authors for the Gibunco Gibraltar Literary Festival continues to add a diverse range of subjects and genres to the offering, which will appeal to an even greater audience. The Festival Team and I are looking forward to November and are confident this year’s Festival will once again delight, inform and entertain.”
