ABOUT THE BOOK

'Anatomy of a Concept'

Christian Hook is an internationally acclaimed Gibraltarian artist whose work blends classical portraiture with experimental concepts, exploring themes of time, movement, and perception. His upcoming series, Electronic Paintings, continues this innovative trajectory—merging traditional oil painting with digital sound, motion, and artificial intelligence to push the boundaries of contemporary portraiture. The series was recently featured at London’s National Portrait Gallery, receiving critical attention for its bold exploration of technology and identity.

As part of this evolving project, Hook is set to appear in An Audience With Christian Hook—an in-depth live conversation featuring the artist alongside special guests. The event will offer insight into his creative process, the ideas behind Electronic Paintings, and his multidisciplinary approach to storytelling through art.

Hook is also the author of Anatomy of a Concept, a richly illustrated publication that captures over a decade of artistic development. The book features more than 100 works, behind-the-scenes sketches, and personal reflections, offering a rare glimpse into the anatomy of his creative vision.

Through both page and canvas, Christian Hook continues to redefine the role of the artist—inviting audiences to experience art as a living, conceptual journey.
